It’s addressed to Republican Congressman Darrell Issa of
It may be our best and only chance to enforce the U.S. Supreme Court
decision, McDonald v. Chicago
that incorporated our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms
against states and local governments, from infringement and here’s how and why:
The primary responsibility of the "House Committee on Oversight and Government
Reform" is
Oversight of virtually everything that our federal
government does - - including to make sure that the United States Justice
Department is protecting your constitutional right to own and use a
firearm for personal self-defense!
That means that it also has the duty to investigate that the
White House and the Executive Branch are doing everything they can
to enforce Supreme Court rulings that protect your constitutional
rights!
. and so far Attorney General
Eric Holder and the Obama administration have done absolutely zero to enforce
the McDonald v. Chicago ruling
against states like Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Maryland,
California and cities like Boston, New York and Chicago, just to name a few,
that are thumbing their nose at that pro-gun rights decision.
That’s why your help is needed to make sure
Obama’s Justice Department, under Attorney General Eric Holder, is using the
funds that Congress has appropriated to enforce the law of the land that
protects your gun owner civil rights from being,infringed
by state and city anti-gun rights laws. The most important thing that
Congressman Issa and his "House Committee on Oversight and Government
Reform" could do is to make sure that YOUR FIREARM CIVIL
RIGHTS are being protected and not attacked by the Justice Department and the
Obama Administration. That’s why it is so important that you sign the
enclosed Gun Owners Civil
Rights Petition and speed it back to me without delay.
Your Gun
Owners Civil Rights Petition to Congressman Issa
asks him to use his power as Chairman of the House Government Oversight
Committee to hold hearings to:
1) Verify that the Obama Administration has no intention
of enforcing the Supreme Court ruling that said you have an individual right to
keep and bear arms.
2) Determine that Attorney General Eric Holder has not put states and cities with
anti-gun rights laws on notice that they must repeal them.
3) Launch hearings to find out why your Firearms Civil Rights are not being
protected by the Obama Justice Department.
4) Demand that the Attorney General Holder and the Obama
Justice Department use the funds appropriated by Congress to defend your Second
Amendment Rights.
Bottom line? We believe that with your help and
support that the House Government Oversight Committee will hold Attorney
General Holder and President Barack Obama accountable and force them to protect
your Constitutional rights from infringement by states and cities from
coast-to-coast .
. And,
with your continued help and support, we intend to make sure that this administration
enforces your Second Amendment rights every bit as much as your First, Fourth
and Fifth!
It took the National Guard to enforce the Supreme
Court’s Brown v. Board of Education ruling. It may very
well take the "House
Committee on Oversight and Government Reform" to enforce the
landmark gun rights case of McDonald
v.

For
almost four decades, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms
has built a reputation fighting for your gun rights against those that want
them destroyed.
And, last, but not least, the Citizens Committee has
been a thorn in the side of the Obama Administration and has not let them
advance their anti-gun rights agenda. We are proud of that record. And we are
proud that we are known for doing the important work that no one else can, or
will, do.

against the "Obama

We must do all we can to make the Obama
Administration force every state and city to respect our gun owner civil rights
and obey the United States Supreme Court.
And, frankly, if we Americans allow both our federal
government and states and cities to continue to violate our FIREARMS CIVIL
RIGHTS
we will
have only ourselves to blame.
