TO THE CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE
COMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT AND GOVERNMENT REFORM U.S. CONGRESSMAN DARRELL ISSA
WHEREAS, the United States Supreme Court in McDonald v. Chicago ruled that our Second Amendment individual right to keep and bear arms is incorporated against states and local governments, from infringement; and
WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Department of Justice to enforce Supreme Court ordered and protected Civil and Constitutional rights when infringed by state and local governments; and
WHEREAS, Obama Administration and Attorney General Eric Holder have done absolutely zero to enforce the McDonald v. Chicago ruling; and
WHEREAS, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has the authority to hold Congressional hearings and investigations of the White House and Department of
Justice.
THEREFORE, I petition you to hold hearings and investigate why the Obama Administration and the Department of Justice have not defended my Firearms Civil Rights against states and cities that have not complied with the U.S. Supreme Court’s McDonald v. Chicago ruling, and urge you to focus your hearings in a manner which will:
1) Verity that the Obama Administration has no intention of enforcing the Supreme Court ruling that said we have an individual right to keep and bear arms.
2) Determine that Attorney General Eric Holder has not put states and cities with anti-gun rights laws on notice that they must repeal them.
3) Launch hearings to find out why our Firearms Civil Rights are not being protected by the Obama Justice Department.
4) Demand that the Attorney General Holder and the Obama Justice Department use the funds appropriated by Congress to defend our Second Amendment Rights.

o YES, we need to make the Obama Department of Justice under Attorney General Eric Holder enforce the U.S. Supreme Court decision in McDonald v. Chicago against states and cities that violate our Constitutional firearms rights.
