Welcome! This message is intended to provide you with a better understanding of the long-standing policies and guidelines that have made the "Lost in Space" list the success that it is. MEMBER POLICIES AND GUIDELINES In simple terms, we are a "family friendly" list who chooses to focus on positive values and pleasant discourse. Our focus is on high-fiber, low-spam "Lost in Space" content that entertains and educates members of the "Lost in Space" community. POSTING POLICIES As the LostinSpace list is a "family friendly" moderated list, our moderator's pre-screen posts to ensure consistently appropriate material for persons of all ages. We believe that without pre-screening posts, no list can guarantee appropriate material of a family friendly and inoffensive nature. As such, we adhere to the following principles when pre-screening posts: Posts that threaten to lower morale of our family friendly list are generally edited or removed. This especially applies to posts of the following nature: *Vulgar: Containing foul and offensive language. *Sexual: If you couldn't say it in front of the neighbor's kids, don't say it here. *Religious: No sermons or theological debates, please. *Political: Your political views are highly valuable, to you! Please keep them to yourself. WHEN IS SOMETHING "OFF-TOPIC"? If the topic of discussion has no "Lost in Space" content, it is off-topic. "Lost in Space" content refers to persons, places or things that are directly related to "Lost in Space", whether it is in the media (TV, movie, print, radio, internet, etc.) or at a physical gathering of "Lost in Space" fans. Discussion is regarded as off-topic at the point when "Lost in Space" content is no longer present. Before sending your message, ask yourself this question: "Where is the 'Lost in Space' content in my message?" If you can't find it, neither will our moderators. :^) Furthermore, posts which are suspected of being unnecessarily disturbing and/or disruptive to our mostly family oriented list members or simply have little to do with the theme of our list may also be affected. Accordingly, the LostinSpace list is best understood as being PG in nature. These have been our policies since the earliest days of our predecessor LISLIST, and remain so today. Members violating our posting policies may have their posts edited for content or deleted altogether. Should list abuse warrant further attention, a member may have their posting status suspended or their list membership revoked altogether.
